Short-eared Owl Photography Tour Description

We are now offering private Short-eared Owl Photography Tours from Saskatoon, Canada.

We plan to guide you in your personal or rented vehicle to one of several sites where Short-eared Owls are currently found.  Return driving distance may be up to 150 km.

Each tour lasts 2 – 3 hours and may be scheduled during mornings, afternoons or evenings.

Morning Tours start at 7 am.
Afternoon Tours start at 1 pm.
Evening Tours start at 6 pm.

Fee Options

Short-eared Owl Photography / Viewing Tour Fee Options

Note: We do not charge per person fees. All fees represent the total fee for your party of 1 – 3 persons traveling in a single vehicle.

1 Short-eared Owl Photography Afternoon Tour from your Vehicle Fee: CAD $290 per vehicle (about US$270, £230) for party of 1 – 3 persons plus leader. Taxes included.
This Short-eared Owl photography session fee includes guiding services during afternoon tour starting at 1 pm.  All persons in your party may view and photograph owl from a public road.  The person paying for the tour will receive a tax receipt for 50% of the fee. Client supplies their own transportation.
Meals, transportation and accommodation are NOT included.

1 Short-eared Owl Photography Morning or Evening Tour from your Vehicle Fee: CAD $390 per vehicle (about US$270, £230) for party of 1 – 3 persons plus leader. Taxes included.
This Short-eared Owl photography session fee includes guiding services during morning tour at 7 am or evening tour at 6 pm.  Morning and Evening tours offer the best chance at having the owl illuminated by golden light. All persons in your party may view and photograph owl from a public road.  The person paying for the tour will receive a tax receipt for 50% of the fee. Client supplies their own transportation.
Meals, transportation and accommodation are NOT included.

2 Same Day Short-eared Owl Photography Tours from your Vehicle Fee: CAD $490 per vehicle (about US$270, £230) for party of 1 – 3 persons plus leader. Taxes included.
This Short-eared Owl photography session fee includes guiding services during 2 consecutive tours on same date.  We may visit different owl locations on each tour. All persons in your party may view and photograph owls from a public road.  The person paying for the tour will receive a tax receipt for 50% of the fee. Client supplies their own transportation.
Meals, transportation and accommodation are NOT included.

2 Consecutive Day Short-eared Owl Photography Tours from your Vehicle Fee: CAD $590 per vehicle (about US$270, £230) for party of 1 – 3 persons plus leader. Taxes included. – Recommended Option for visitors.
This Short-eared Owl photography session fee includes guiding services during 2 tours on consecutive dates.  All persons in your party may view and photograph owls from a public road.  This option is recommended because it increases the chance of getting good weather for at least 1 of the tours. The person paying for the tour will receive a tax receipt for 50% of the fee. Client supplies their own transportation.
Meals, transportation and accommodation are NOT included.

How to get to Saskatoon

Car: Saskatoon is located on Canada’s Yellowhead cross-country highway plus 6 other major highways connecting with all cities in Canada and USA. If you drive, you do not need to rent a car for our tours.

Insurance

We recommend that you purchase travel medical insurance to cover emergency medical expenses during your tour.
We also recommend Trip Cancellation and Interruption insurance.

Travel insurance with trip cancellation and interruption benefits can reimburse you for non-refundable, pre-paid trip costs (up to the amount of your plan limits) should your participation in the trip be canceled or interrupted for a covered reason. According to our cancellation policies, your payment to us will become non-refundable if you cancel your participation after the deadlines outlined in our policies.

In general, Trip Cancellation insurance reimburses you for non-refundable expenses if you are unable to join the tour. Trip Interruption reimburses you for the unused portion of your tour if you have to leave part-way through a tour and it also covers some additional unexpected expenses incurred during your travel (e.g. additional hotel of flight costs due to weather delays or other delays that are not covered by your airline).
